Scenic 98?

Are the hotels and condos along Scenic 98 on the gulf side of the road and therefore directly on the beach? Or are most of them across the street on the north side? If they are across the street, is it much of a hassle to cross to get to the beach?

I%26#39;m checking out many places on floridavacations.com but find that they don%26#39;t tell the location. Are there any tips on deciphering where different places are?

Scenic 98?

There are only a few hotels on Scenic 98 and unless they%26#39;ve added since last year, no, none of them are on the beach. There are many condos on both the gulf side of the road and across the street. We%26#39;ve stayed both places and simply prefer the ones on the beach so we can sit on our balcony and look at the gulf unobstructed. When we have stayed across the street it has never been a problem. In some locations you still have a small view and the road is not too busy so you can cross it.

I have never used the website you are asking about so I am not sure about the fact they don%26#39;t give you clear locations. I always rent from ResortQuest, and I also hear great things about booking through vrbo.com.

Good luck!

It can be confusing a quick email to the owner will help clear up any questions. Or if you would like to run a quick list on here.I am sure someone will know the exact location or has even stayed there.

Sunnyflmom - most will either say ';beachfront'; - which usually means you%26#39;re on the beach side of the road or ';beach access'; - which usually means the opposite side of the road.

I personally prefer spending the extra $$$s staying ';Beachfront'; so as not to have to cross the road. I guess it depends on who you have with you. If you%26#39;re taking young children, I%26#39;d think ';beachfront'; would be your preferred choice. Our kids are 18 and 20, and I still like being ';beachfront';.

Enjoy!
