Swan & Dolphin - Conference Halls Setup

We%26#39;ll be attending a software conference in Oct. held at the Swan %26amp; Dolphin hotel(s). The organizers are not being very specific about which is the primary venue and it sounds like the hotel reservation line they have setup could put us in a room at either place. Because my wife uses a wheelchair we would prefer to be in the one that has all the meeting rooms...if it is a case of one does and the other does not. I%26#39;ve been there before but can not remember. I know they ar enot that far apart for walking but wheeling might be another thing.

Are the meeting halls and rooms at just one of these (and which one) or at both? Also, I bought the spouse meal package (brkfst/lunch) for her so where would large group meal service likely be?

Thanks!

Sequim88,

If you are there for the Gartner Group or Microsoft conferences, the reason the organizers can not give you any information is because they use all the meeting rooms in both hotels.

Typically the big general sessions are in the Dolphin%26#39;s Northern Hemisphere or Pacific Ballrooms. Exhibits, if there are any will likely be in the Dolphin%26#39;s first floor Atlantic room, but they could extend through the large lobby area and into the Pacific as well.

You are correct that getting from one hotel to the other is something of a hike. I have never looked for the elevators in the Dolphin, but I seem to remember that they are in weird out of the way places.

If you follow the links on the hotel web sites to the ';Meeting Planner'; section, you will find floor plans of all the meeting rooms. You have to drill down through about ten menus to find them, but they are there.

My recommendation would be to stay at the Dolphin since it will likely house the majority of the meetings you will wish to attend.

OBTW... I worked the Gartner show in 1999. It was huge then, it must be monstrous now.
