I am completely unfamiliar with the Miami area and need to spend a couple of days there on some business. In reading other posts, there are several ';areas';, south Beach, Sobe etc. Where would the 900 block on Lincoln be? What hotels are in that area or close by near a beach? What areas are thought to be unsafe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

South Beach in the 900 area of Lincoln Road is entirely safe. If you need a hotel nearby, check the Crest, the Albion, the Greenview, the Catalina... or the Clay.
