Fourth of July Activities

This as posted in the Destin Log this morning. It has a pretty comlete list of what is happeing on the 4th -

FOURTH OF JULY

4Christian Symphonic Band

The Christian Symphonic Band celebrates the true spirit of America with a patriotic gala performance, “An American Tribute,” at 7 p.m. June 30 and July 1 at Cinco Baptist Church, 26 Yacht Club Drive in Fort Walton Beach. The concerts are free with a love offering taken during the concert. Call 243-7656 for more information.

The Market Shops at Sandestin

Live entertainment and children’s activities from 4-6 p.m June 30 and July 1 on the Cypress Green. Admission is free. Open to the public. No outside coolers. Zydeco Zoo performs June 30 and Motor City Josh %26amp; The Big 3 perform on July 1.

4Family activities in Seaside

The Merchants of Seaside host patriotic family activities beginning with a performance of “Beauty and the Beast” by the Seaside Repertory at 7:30 p.m. July 2 at the Watercolor Amphitheatre.

A performance by “Latitude 29” will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. July 3 in the Seaside Amphitheater. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

The annual South Walton Community Parade begins at 8 a.m. July 4. Residents and visitors share the glory as they march 1.5 miles down County Road 30-A from Seagrove decked in patriotic costumes on festive holiday floats vying for the crowd’s favor. Upon arrival in Seaside, a panel of judges will select a winning parade routine.

The crowd always loves patriotic pooches dressed in their finest holiday costumes.

Prizes will be awarded to the best parade entries in four categories: float, routine, golf cart/ bicycle and kids. After performances are judged and winners announced, enjoy live music in the amphitheater until 11 a.m. along with face painting and a watermelon.

The outdoor amphitheater stage lights up with David Ott conducting the Northwest Florida Symphony and a guest appearance by David Seering at 7:30 p.m. July 4 for an evening pops concert as the sky lights up with fireworks. Families sit out their favorite beach chairs and blankets, kids boogie to the music, and adults toast the perfect day.

Red,White %26amp; Baytowne

The Village of Baytowne Wharf will host a variety of children’s activities from 5-10 p.m. July 4 in the Events Plaza. Crafts, face painting, caricature artists, balloon sculpting, street-performers including stilt walkers, jugglers and magicians, and other exciting activities will please the little patriots. Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross will be on site to celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave as they stroll the streets of the Village.

Live music is sure to entertain all ages. Local favorites include acoustic rock band Free Monica performing from 5–6:30 p.m. and the musical blending of mandolin, fi ddle, guitar and bass with Dread Clampitt from 7–10 p.m.

The Regions Bank Independence Fireworks Spectacular begins at 10 p.m. over the Lagoon. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a breathtaking and inspiring tribute to America.

4The Philharmonic

Goes POP!

The Philharmonic Pops, the summer-concert version of The Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro David Ott, will perform at 7:15 p.m. July 1 on the lush green adjacent to Destin City Hall, 4200 Two Trees Road. Rain location: Destin Community Center. Fireworks close the evening.

Admission is free. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food concessions available. Call 218-8705.

4Broadway, Pops %26amp; Fireworks

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and The Merchants of Seaside will present Broadway, Pops %26amp; Fireworks at 7:30 p.m. July 4 at the Seaside Amphitheater. Admission is free.

Singer/entertainer David Seering will perform Broadway and Big Band hits followed by patriotic and pops music under the direction of Conductor David Ott and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Northwest Florida.

Walton County

Heritage Museum

A fifth anniversary celebration will be held all day July 4 at the Walton County Heritage Museum, 1140 Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs. The Museum will open at its regular time, 11 a.m., and stay open until after the fi reworks display. Caboose will be open from 3-6 p.m.

4Fireworks display

The annual City of Destin Independence Day Fireworks display will be held at about 9 p.m. July 4 over Destin East Pass. The show will once again be synchronized to patriotic music on radio station MIX 103.

4July 4th fi reworks extravaganza

Celebrate the nation’s 231st anniversary to a fi reworks extravaganza over the skyline of Destin Commons just after 8:30 p.m. July 4.

The spirit is upbeat as locals and visitors gather in Center Plaza to celebrate America’s birthday. Kids frolic in the 49-head pop fountains, offering some cool summer fun. Other children’s activities include the balloon-making stilt-walker, Zachary. Lawn chairs and blankets welcome. Call 337-8700.

Fourth of July Activities

Thanks for the invite to Semcos. We are leaving next Friday and it will be our fourth time to be there on the fourth! There will be about 30 of us this year from southern Indiana and we are staying at the Edgewater again. Great condo!

We usually do a shrimp boil on the fourth and watch the fireworks from the condo but we can change plans if you want us!!!!lol


LOL. My pool is TINY. You guys have a great time whatever you choose to do!!!
