Blizzard Beach

We are going to Sea World and thinking about Blizzard Beach in early June. What is your opinion of this place versus Wet %26#39;n Wild? We will be staying in Daytona Beach for the most part but want to check out a couple places in Orlando. We will only have a couple days to visit Orlando. This is the best website ever for finding out about places to travel, stay, eat, etc. We found out alot about the hotels in Daytona Beach and now we are staying at the TripAdvisor #1 rated hotel! Thanks, TripAdvisor!!!!!

Thanks for your opinion!

Blizzard Beach

I%26#39;ve been to Blizzard Beach and my husband has been to both Blizzard Beach %26amp; Wet %26#39;n Wild. He says that if you are just into slide, go to Wet %26#39;n Wild. But he said that the slides are all there is there - it%26#39;s a bit of a concrete jungle. Blizzard Beach has slides but it also has landscaping and is a nicer overall experience.

Hope this helps.

Blizzard Beach

There is a water park similar to Wet N Wild called Daytona Lagoon, right in Daytona Beach. If all you%26#39;re looking for is a day of swimming and some slides, why not go there and use your other Orlando day to visit one of the other parks instead? It seems like a long drive just to swim (especially if you hit the traffic at rush hour!). You can check out their website at daytonalagoon.com to see if it would interest you.

We may check Daytona Lagoon out. It is a bit a cheaper and we won%26#39;t have to travel an hour away. We definitely are planning to go to Sea World. My daughter was a baby when we went to our local Sea World in Ohio and she has never seen Shamu. They no longer have our Sea World. I understand that Orlando Sea World is 3 times the size of Ohio%26#39;s. Thanks for your help!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY at Wet and Wild. Go to Blizzard Beach instead. I can%26#39;t say enough to people about not going here. If you want to be in an overcrowded pool, have your rented water tubes stolen, wait in long lines in a place that fails to have adequate chairs and area for it%26#39;s patrons, by all means, visit this place. If you want to feel comfortable and be in a clean setting, enjoy Blizzard Beach. If you would rather snorkel in ';coral reef'; and with stingrays and wade in a lazy river pool, try Discovery Cove (part of Sea World, but a separate nearby park.) You don%26#39;t have to swim with the dolphins here and they have great accomodations because they limit the number of people to 1,000 a day. Typhoon Lagoon in Disney was fun too, but it really depends on the ages of your children, if any. The younger the child, Typhoon Lagoon...We went to Wet and Wild last year and will never go again. My kids were 12 and 15 and were less than impressed. Have a great trip.

I definitely agree with the last poster. Wet n wild was horrific, the lines were 2 hours long, the place was dirty and way overcrowded. I was just there Saturday for my daughters 11th birthday and we left after one ride due to the excessive crowd and schools not even out yet. Been to blizzard beach much nicer atmosphere shorter lines, also daytona lagoon is a very nice smaller park and is worth a visit.

Last time we were in Orlando we went to both Blizzard Beach and Wet and Wild. Both are great water parks with fun family rides and thrill rides, your typical wave pool, etc.

Blizzard Beach, though, has the great Disney theming / beautiful landscaping, etc. that Wet and Wild doesn%26#39;t have. I%26#39;d go there instead of Wet and Wild. I loved the little chair lift that carries you up to some of the slides. My eight year old loved the fast slides and the adorable younger kid area -- little fake iceburgs you step on and try to cross the water on without falling in , swinging T-bar etc. And the big raft family rides were a huge hit too. -- A very enjoyable day -- I highly recommend Blizzard Beach.

Definitely recommend Blizzard Beach -- it is in a different class (higher) than Wet N Wild.

It has a unique theme (it%26#39;s a water park disguised as a ski resort) and the whole landscape is so beautiful. Even the silly names they use on the rides and restaurants (i.e. AvaLunch, name for their lunch restaurant) make you giggle.

old post

Just realized that after I finished the post - sorry
