Private villa's in Rotonda NR Engelwood 'Heaven'

We decided to take a break from the parks,this after all was the third year running we had been to florida.,

My wife insisted that this should be the first of our two week holiday,and we plumped for a villa on arrival at a place called Engelwood.

Never heard of it! I said to the lady from TCD,but it was cheaper than the Clearwater or Naples equivelant,so we said lets give it a go.

We arrived at Sanford,4 hours later than planned,then after a tiring 3 hour drive arrived at the booking agents office in engelwood around 12.30 -1am.

Luckily the directions to the villa were excellant and we were staying in a place called Rotonda,about 10-15 minutes away.

We found our villa,thankfully within 10 minutes,dumped the cases on the floor,and within 5 minutes we were all snooring our heads of.

When we awoke ,we were truly amazed at the splendor of our accomadation,we had not asked for a luxury or elite villa,but at over 2000 sq ft,auomatic double garage etc,we were ecstatic.

There was everything there,sunbeds parosols,toys for the pool,magazines,books,you name it it was provided for.

We very quickly found our way around the area,and we were by the local golf course in Rotonda,freinds who went with us,had thier villa along the edge of the course,and often chatted to the people playing a round.

Our villa backed on to a canal,where you saw the florida wildlife first hand.

Engelwood beach was 10 minutes away,Port charlotte about the Same,all your usual stores,Wal Mart winn dixie etc were there,and numerous malls within 30 minutes.

We visited,Fort Myers(Edison/Ford country houses)Naples,Registry resort,Port Charlotte,Venice,it is beautiful,if only we had had more time.

The food is to die for,and so cheap,and the portions are so large,1 between 2 was generally enough for my 4 kids.

The beaches and parks,and things overall are just so wonderful,that it was a welcome change from Orlando and the parks,that we experianced before.

We were very sorry to see this week go bye,so quickly,and we would like to thank a place in the sun rentals,for there excellant service.

By contrast we stayed in Regal palms in Davenport,for our parks week,although an excellant villa,it was not a patch on the Engelwood one,and after a very hectic week park hopping,well we wished we had stayed the whole two weeks in Engelwood.

In fact Ive already enquired about two weeks in %26#39;06,try it you wil really enjoy the change,we did.

All in all a wonderful holiday by the sea.

Great to hear that some one else has found this area besides ourselves. Forbes magazine once quoted Englewood Rotonda as ';The Best Kept Secret!';. More and more people are finding this area with plenty of brand new Private Villas to rent that are fully furnished and well taken care of.
