Hi to all...
Since there was such a long thread recently about jellyfish... I thought I%26#39;d take a second and post my observations. We%26#39;re here now, staying at Sandestin. We arrived last Wednesday evening, and I%26#39;ve only seen two or three jellies the whole time we%26#39;ve been here. On Thurs and Fri, the water was clear, green, and beautiful, with fairly good size waves... and not a jelly in sight. Saturday, it was crystal clear and much calmer... I did spot a couple of small floating jellies, but nothing like what the previous thread described. I think maybe they%26#39;ve moved on their way...
On Sunday, the waves kicked up and some seaweed began to wash in... then yesterday the waves REALLY picked up! (Could it be a far, far away effect from Dean?) The water was quite rough and the body surfers and boogie boarders were having a blast! We walked on the beach last night, and noticed that the waves had carved a cliff into the sand... from several inches high, to waist high in one spot! This morning the water looks much calmer. Sadly, we have to go home today, so I%26#39;m headed down now for one last swim. I%26#39;ll post a trip report once we get home.
I also wanted to say that I don%26#39;t post very frequently, but I really enjoy reading this forum. Thanks for the wealth of information that you all provide. The trip reports are fun to read... they make me feel like I%26#39;m in Destin when I can%26#39;t be!
And to all who worry and wonder about conditions... please, please never worry about the beaches in Destin. It is always amazing and beautiful here, no matter what Mother Nature is bringing ashore that day. You will have a great time here... it truly is the best.

Sorry you have to leave - glad you had a good time. You have the right attitude. We once went on a Windjammer trip. Got on the boat and they had just varnished our room and the one across the hall. I took one wiff of the room - threw down our suitcases and headed to the bar on deck. The people across from us complained and she cried and they had the worse trip ever all because all they could think about was the smell in their room . My husband and I on the other hand had one of the best trips ever because we choose to ignore the situation and enjoy our vacation. It truly is all a matter of attitude.
