We are planning to start our honeymoon in Miami and want to stay in South Beach. I keep reading very mixed reviews about such hotels as Delano, Victor and Setai. We want luxury but not a massive chain hotel, to be close to the beach, to have a pool and not loads of party noise if possible and for it to be romantic. Any recommendations? Many thanks.
Honeymoon in South Beach
Reading all your requirements, leads me to question your decision in selecting South Beach ( party central, not very romantic) as your honeymoon destination, my recommendation would be to go futher north, Acqualina , on the list of top 100 most luxurious resort hotels in the world, in the June%26#39;s 07 issue of Robb Report . They have adults only pool , one of four pools that is very romantic, ocean front, beautiful grounds, and three ocean front restaurants. It does not get better than that.
South Beach is fifteen to twenty minutes away ,go if you have to and see what you are not missing.
Honeymoon in South Beach
IF all you are interested in is hanging out on the beach, without much else to do but enjoy a plush resort and you dont mind fighting traffic and parking to get to where the action is, something like Sunny Isles may do.
South Beach is hot for a reason. You will have spectacular beaches, with plenty to do within walking distance, and of course romance.
If you want luxury, those hotels you mentioned certainly fit the bill.
The Raleigh is a very nice hotel that is not a chain and is in a great spot. The Sagamore is also a very nice very close to the best of South Beach.
The old adage still applies. Location, location, location, even when it concerns your honeymoon. I would not settle for less.
Thank you both very much for your advice. Sim we are starting in South Beach, only for 3 days, and then on to luxury beach resort . I will do more research I think before we make a decision.
