Flying United Airlines...what airport?

We will be flying on United. I can%26#39;t seem to find an airport in the Destin area. What is the major airport in the area? Thanks.

Flying United Airlines...what airport?

Northwest %26amp; Delta come into the Ft. Walton Beach airport, (VPS). I have no idea where United flies. Maybe Pensacola, (about an hour and twenty minutes west), or Panama City Beach, (About the same distance east).

I really don%26#39;t want to drive that far after being on a plane all morning. Does anyone know anything about the Pensacola area? Is the beach just as nice as Destin?

ah-oh....

do you expect die-hard Destin fans to tell you that Pensacola is just as pretty? I am a die hard Destin fan, so my opinion is....

there%26#39;s no place like Destin

there%26#39;s no place like Destin

there%26#39;s no place like Destin

I%26#39;ve tried clicking my heels while chanting it....but I%26#39;m still in Missouri :)

Thanks...I get the picture. The only places on the Gulf I have been to are St. Pete Beach and Clearwater. I can%26#39;t believe United doesn%26#39;t fly into Destin. I was originally looking at Siesta Key until I realized there are no waves. Someone suggested I look into Destin. The area looks great but I don%26#39;t think I want to drive that far from the airport, considering the distance coupled with traffic!

When are you visiting? Traffic is only a major concern during high season. There aren%26#39;t any major waves in Destin, either. There are some nice gulf waves, but not like the Atlantic coastline.

What%26#39;s an hour drive in the course of a week? Not that much, in my opinion.

I am planning on spring break time, which I imagine is high season. An hour drive isn%26#39;t too bad but I would rather be closer to the airport. I guess I will have to think about what is more important!

It also depends on where in Destin you are planning to stay. If you stay in the Sandestin area, the Panama City airport is a little less than an hour.

I think that may end up too far also. I am not familiar with the area and I don%26#39;t want to be stressed trying to find my way from the airport to the place I end up staying at.

I was looking into Panama City Beach, looks beautiful with alot to do. I am thinking of spring break and I am getting mixed reviews on the area at that time. Some people say it is great for families too.

I wasn%26#39;t in PCB at Spring Break and wouldn%26#39;t say it was for families, so I certainly wouldn%26#39;t think so for Sprink Break time. PCB is a very happening spring breaker place....not exactly family friendly.

You aren%26#39;t likely to find somewhere as family friendly as Destin.

When is your spring break? Some spring breaks are as early as early March and others are as late as mid April? The weather difference is appreciable between those two time frames.
