SSR or Casa Ybel with 2 and 5 yr old

We have stayed on sanibel several times so I am familiar with that so Casa Ybel is sort of familiar. My question is SSR accessible with children walking? to the pool to the town(Mucky Duck). If I stay at SSR I am planning on the beach villas, but they also have the Marina Villas if that would be a better choice. In SSR can you walk to the pool area with a stroller or do you have to take a shuttle. We do like to do some biking but I am ok with going to sanibel for the day to do that. Mostly we like to get around by walking as much as possible. Do I have a better chance of avoiding red tide if we stay at SSR, and how is the tide in front of Casa Ybel?

SSR we will use the resort to book so we get all amenities if we stay at Casa should we book directly with owner and can anyone recommend any two bedrooms if that is the case.

Again we have a 2 and 5 year old so we just want a nice pool and to be able to walk on the beach for shells.

By the way we are planning on going the second week of Aug. I know it will be hot we are from Orlando.

Thanks any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

SSR is HUGE. You could lose Casa Ybel in one corner of the resort and not notice it. That%26#39;s why you really need the trolley to get around.

As for locations - well, some of the beach villas are very near the village area and you can walk to restaurants along the beach [much further by road and not the safest walk as there are no walking paths outside the resort], but when I was there the trolley was still running into the heart of the village so guests could eat there at night.

Their main pool complex is a LONG way away from the beach villas [I%26#39;d guess over a mile by road/walking paths] on the bayside of the resort - trolley is really needed, but you can walk and yes it is safe. Each of the complexes have their own pool as well and many guests prefer just using that one rather than making the trek.

I%26#39;d say that you wouldn%26#39;t be pleased by the location of the Marina Villas. They are convenient to nothing. There are no longer any resort restaurants on the south end of the resort.

I love Captiva, the Beach Villas have a killer sunset view, and South Seas has a location to envy, but you may well find the compact nature of Casa Ybel - and their kiddy pool - much better suited to you and your young family. SSR is so spread out that you%26#39;d be in constant need of a trolley to get around to the different activities - or you%26#39;d pay for many facilities you%26#39;ll leave unused because they are just too much of a hassle to get to with the kids.
