3 days with a 7year old new to Disney

HI, my family will be spending 3 days over the 4th. Can anyone recommend which parks would be better for a 7 year old to enjoy during such a short stay? We are going to magic kingdom for sure but don%26#39;t know enough info to decide between MGM,Animal Kingdom, Universal, or Epcot. I appreciate any advice!!!

3 days with a 7year old new to Disney

I must admit that I have only been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I have a 6 year old. All my friends say I must take her to MGM. From what I hear MGM is a great place for kids that age.

3 days with a 7year old new to Disney

We just returned from 6 days in Orlando hitting most parks, and I would recommend the MK of course, and MGM. MGM is one of the smaller parks, and with the crowds, you will not be so rushed to hit all of the rides and shows in that park in one day. We tried Universal/Island of Adventure and did not like it. It was too packed with people and the Express Pass (to avoid the long lines) cost $40 extra per ticket. The Fast Passes at Disney are much better. As for Epcot vs. Animal Kingdom, I guess I would lean toward AK because of the age of the child, thinking there might not be too much at Epcot for her. Oh yeah, get there early. Just my two cents. Have a nice trip. Tom

Hi almom2, I was @ Disney this past weekend with my Nephew, he just turned 10. We only had 3 days and we fit alot in. 1st day we went to MGM. 2nd day we went to Magic Kingdom. 3rd day we went to Animal Kingdom. I let my Nephew pick the 3 he wanted to go to. We both felt Epcot had the least amount of Fun Kid Stuff. My Nephew had non-stop fun at the 3 parks he picked.

I would avoid Magic Kingdom on the 4th, maybe do Animal Kingdom that day, it will be less crowded.

Hope that helps

You will be going during crowds that will be a ';9'; or a ';10'; on a scale of 1- 10. Please do yourself a favor and go to www.touringplans.com. It will cost $7.95 but it will be worth it. Get their touring plans and look at their best days information. Avoid whichever parks they tell you to avoid. This is huge and I promise it will make a big, big difference in the amount of time you spend waiting in lines.

we have done every park going over several years , and i think becuase of the age and short stay period i would say def mk and then animal kingdom, epcot is a big park and spread out , although i loved mgm studios , its based on movies, and maybe not all the rides will appeal to a 7 year old, although the fantasmic show(if its still going) is one of the best i have seen, i loved animal kingdom as well, it has a wonderful setting , the bugs life show is a must try and get the safari as early as possible, so you will stand more chance of spotting animals, if you go on the web sites they have lots of pics and videos , perhaps your seven year old might choose one from the web sites, universal studios has a lot of big thrill rides in them, and my 7 year old opted out of doing a lot of them, luckily you can parent swap in any park it saves you having to que again , just ask and they are happy to help you do this, and dont forget that fass pass system in disney parks, it really does work! and i always recomend to brits, in reading the brits guide by simon veness probaly pick up last years copy cheap on e bay , it breaks down every park, includes a few maps and details every ride so you can plan the park out as well, saves standing in line for a ride that is probaly too old or too baby ish , and tells you of places to eat , whatever you choose i am sure you will love it have fun x

My 7 year old loved MGM. He got to visit pizza planet (Toy Story) and there is a little dinner that has car shapped booths that play movies while you eat. Very cute and people of all ages were having a good time. The little mermaid adventure was fun, the muppets show was a blast. They had characters from Star Wars, Monsters Inc walking around. He loved it. Epcot will bore your 7 year old. My 9 year old and 12 and 13 year old kids loved epcot, but my 7 year old thought it was boring like a museum. Not very many rides at MGM, we did it in half a day.

I would get 2 days of 1 park passes and 1 day park hopper pass.

Start off with Magic Kingdom for a whole day

Animal Kingdom for a whole day (Becareful and bring water...it gets warm there)

Hop the third day and go to MGM for half a day and Epcot for a few hours in the late afternoon early evening.

On one of the evenings you go to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom go to Downtown disney (Free, no ticket required) and have dinner or see the fun shops.

Get a three day hopper pass and do all the parks. We just returned and did just that. Be sure and get to the parks at opening time. Map out your must see rides and ride them first. Use fast pass when you can. We did magic kingdom the first day, animal kingdom and mgm the second day, and epcot and mgm the third day. We did two days of parks took a day off and then did the third day. I would skip Universal this trip. Unless you buy a fast pass , you will spend a lot of time in line over the fourth there. Save that park for when your 7 year old is older. Hope this helps.

Hello almom,

I didn%26#39;t read everyone%26#39;s responses but whatever you do even though Magic Kingdom would be my recomomendation for your 7 year old, do NOT attempt going on the 4th! It will be body to body, hot and humid. Epcot would be your best bet as it%26#39;s Disney%26#39;s largest park and doesn%26#39;t feel as crowded as the others. There%26#39;s plenty for a 7 year old to enjoy at Epcot also. It%26#39;s late in the game to make an advance dining reservation for whichever park you choose to go to but try to make one anyway otherwise you%26#39;ll be stuck standing in long counter service lines. See if the Garden Grill has availability if going to Epcot, your 7 year old will enjoy the character meal.
