Have any timeshare owners heard of or used the company called US Vacation which are a company that deals in Timeshare resales and rentals. Any information would be appreciated.

Where to start...Okay, I%26#39;ll just plunge right in. First off,my bona fides: I am the owner of 5 timeshares scattered around Florida and the southwest. For what you paid for it,here is my advice:

Stay away from the Timeshare Resale websites that are all over the internet ! These sites are mostly scams. The scam is perpetrated on both the seller (an upfront listing fee of many hundreds of $$$) and a scam on the back end when they list the property for an implausibly high price to sucker you (the buyer) into thinking that you are buying an ';exclusive property'; .

The websites have ALREADY made their money on the deal,they could care less if these properties sell. (I have been tracking one listing that has stayed in existence since 2003).

The great majority of these sites are just turn key ,auto pilot sites that take in emails from people that happen to wander in. They have no staff,no office and no phone number for inquiries (remember, they have collected a lot of $$$ already from the desperate seller).They may get back to you and they may not.

There are some flesh and blood sites that sell timeshares to buyers.Most GMAC agents in touristy places have a timeshare resale desk. (You have to figure that there will be a commmission built into the price you pay). Holiday Timeshare Resale runs a legitimate business selling these things,but in my experience with them,they were rude and if they don%26#39;t smell an imminent sale,you will get short shrift...Creepy fact-I once got an email from them saying that they had seen me looking around their site and was there anything that they could do for me.Hmmmmm...)

Holiday does offer financing for their listings,but if you have to finance one of these properties,you probably shouldn%26#39;t be buying at all.Pay cash,save cash.

Finally,the best place that I have found to buy timeshares has been Ebay. Remember, it%26#39;s ALWAYS a buyers market with timeshares and it is not unusual to see many listings expire on Ebay without a bid. (Go to Real Estate-Timeshares) This can mean a real bargain on a beachfront property,but check out the place first. (You are already at one of the best places to study-Tripadvisor.com...Also,when it comes to timeshares,you would be well advised to spend the $10 per year that it costs to join TImeshare Users Group for their many unbiasesd reviews)

Bottom line- Don%26#39;t be on either side of a bad deal.Get the property you want at a good price by exploring all of your options.
