Help! 2 British guys looking to head to Miami!

Hello there!

Me and my mate who are both 20 years old are thinking of heading to Miami this year, possibly next month.

We would like to have both an upbeat and relaxing holiday, would like to go out almost every night if possible to clubs and bars, and would like to meet some friends and definitely some girls.

We usually head out to Ibiza, but we want a change. We were thinking Cancun but are now a little put off.

Do you think Miami would make a good holiday for us? If so, what are the best locations/hotels/resorts etc?

A friend told us that she went not long ago and hated it, saying it was scruffy and there were people with guns everywhere! Don%26#39;t know what to tihnk about that though!

I hope someone can help us out here, looking to book asap!

Thanks! :-)

What you have to remember if you are going to Miami is the drinking age is 21 and not 20 and identification is asked for. Our son was at University of Miami and did know lots of people who used fake ID but it is a risk that is not really worth taking.

Miami and Coconut Grove are great places and it is easy to get around the area using public transport.

We have been to Miami several times and rarely seen people openly carrying guns. Bit like London which is hardly gun free.

Yes, there are people with guns, they are called policemen and they carry guns here in USA. I would suggest you go to Miami Beach , not Miami which are two different cities. Miami Beach is a vacation destination, Miami is a business destination. South Beach, which is the southern part of Miami Beach ( 20th street and down) is where you will find clubs and bars, however if you are 20 yrs or younger you will not be able to get into these bars or clubs as the previous post mentioned.

Have fun no matter where!

If you%26#39;re nearly 21, then wait until you are 21 before coming over.
