I don%26#39;t know how long this resurfacing of the Overseas Highway is supposed to take at about MM78, just south of Bud %26amp; Mary%26#39;s, but get ready to experience HORRIBLE delays. I had to go to the dentist in Marathon and usual 1 hour drive from Key Largo took 1 hour 30 minutes. Heading back north from Marathon took 2 hours 40 minutes!!!! They have nearly 2 miles of road reduced to 1 lane. About every 30 minutes they let one side or the other go. Northbound, we were stopped in the line around MM72 - and to get past the construction took around 2 hours. I have not seen traffic backed up this bad since being allowed back into the Keys after Hurricane Mitch in %26#39;98!
The sheriff%26#39;s office has no idea as to when construction will be finished.
