I%26#39;m lloking to rent a villa for the week on Anna Maria Island and have found one that looks perfect on annamaria.com. However, an internet search shows that the villa is actually up for sale. What would happen to our booking for next March if the villa is sold in the meantime? Any ideas?
villa advice
Do you have the email address or postal address of the present owners? Maybe you can ask them.
villa advice
Spudley, I would be very apprehensive if the villa is up for sale, once sold, your reservation would be null and void and you would have to negoiate with the new owner. The new owner may or may not want to rent the villa, he may live in it full time. I agree with Chuts, I would discuss it with the Realitor, I believe there is one listed on that website that manages these villas. It could also be that it is written in the sales contract that the new owners has to honor previous bookings, I sort of doubt that though. You have a valid concern, March is a high season month on AMI and rentals are not so easy to find at that time. Good Luck.
Spudley, we recently returned and stayed at ww.annamariabeachrental.com It%26#39;s not beach front but quaint. It says it%26#39;s a 5 minute walk. Well, with a toddler at hand yes. If adults are walking to the beach it%26#39;s about a minute and a half.
When we arrived we noticed that there was a for sale sign on our rental. Then, we noticed that over half the island is for sale! The owner of our rental is an agent but there is no MLS number. Just a sign in case someone wants to make an offer. You may want to ask the owner of the particular villa that you are interested in renting to see if that is the case in your situation.
Thanks for the info. I have spoken to the rental agent who assures me that our rental will be guaranteed even if the villa is sold in the meantime. I guess a lot of people buy property on the island with the intention of renting it out to holidaymakers at certain times of the year, so if they can have guaranteed rental income before they purchase, all the better.
That%26#39;s great, I know you are relieved. Have a great visit.
Have used annamaria.com before. The guy lives in Wales part of the year, is friendly and doesn`t bite so ask him.
I think he owns some of the properties on the web site and manages others. Bob and Jenny are the couple who run the business, along with their daughter I believe.
The properties we have stayed in are really nicely furnished, a bit more expensive thatn some but if you want a bit extra then worth it.
What size property are you looking for ?
Have you looked at Bermuda Bay ? Not as exclusive but decent standard and a bit cheaper.
Thanks again for all your advice. I have now booked a villa near Holmes Beach. We have never been to the Gulf Coast before and are hoping we%26#39;ve picked the right area to stay in. From what I have read about Anna Maria it sound perfect! Can%26#39;t wait until next March!
