I have pricing up 14 days staying at quality inn on int drive fro aprl/may of next year.
Virgin flying from gatwick is coming in at 拢2300 and portland direct is coming in at 拢1800 for the same weeks.(flying from bham)
Is this a fair comparrison or is there alot more included as standard in the virgin package such as decent car rental with good insurance than the portland/thomson offering.
Any advice is much appreciated .
portland direct or virgin
Have you tried pricing it yourself on the internet.
This is what I have done this year and saved a lot of money.
Try airlinenetwork.com or alpharooms.com
Just have a look and see what you come up with for the same trip.
portland direct or virgin
Also look at travelsupermarket.com
Good advice about trying to do it yourself! I certainly have done this on all but one occasion.
Regarding Portland vs Virgin.....you should find that the car rental element is just rental only.....i.e. you will have to pay insurance %26amp; taxes etc yourself with both companies.
The main difference will be the flight - Virgin will be on their own plane to MCO (Orlando International - much closer to the ';action';). Portland will almost definately use Thomsonfly charter to Sanford (SFB) which is further away.
拢500 is sufficent enough a difference to consider - especially if you are closer to B%26#39;Ham than LGW.
Hi,
Haven%26#39;t been to Orlando now for a couple of years , but prior to that we went twice a year for about 10 years.
I always planned and booked my own trip, it always worked out much cheaper than the package deals and is so easy to do.
Mostly all Orlando hotels have their own websites and offer really good deals. I used to browse through the holiday brochures such as Virgin to see what hotels they used then brought up the hotel website to compare prices.
We have had some great stays at WDW hotels for a fraction of the brochure prices. If you are intending to stay the whole time in Orlando and stay at Disney you really can do without a car.
We have also stayed at hotels close to Disney who provide free shuttles everyday to the parks.
If you want to explore a little and go to the beach, then you can hire a car locally for just the days you need it.
We always flew from Manchester latterly with Virgin which is a direct flight and found them excellent.
Hope this helps and you have a great trip.
