hi we are comming to miami in october driving from orlando for the day perhaps to stop for the night and as I am disabled and my husband in his sixties we are wondering if its safe to drive and look around the south beach area, we would love to visit but worrie that it might be to much for us ..any advice will be most gratefully received.

I would definitely stop for the night, it%26#39;s a long way for there and back in a day, but it%26#39;s well worth a visit, and you can drive the length of South Beach and see lots and lots, at times the traffic may be slow but all the better for seeing things.
It%26#39;s safe to visit and you would enjoy the change from Orlando.

Have a look on the Miami beach page for reviews of hotels, I don%26#39;t tend to stay in South Beach so am not the best one to ask, or do a search for ';Miami Beach hotels'; or check out the Miami Beach forum.
The last place I stayed at was the Fontainebleau Tower Suites, I am going back next month but they are a bit of a way from South Beach, you would be better staying on South Beach if you are only there one night.
