I%26#39;m holidaying to orlando next year with my family and will be visting all the parks.
I just wondered if anyone has had the misfourtune to find out about any nasty hidden tricks that the hotels/parks pull, that you could pass on as I know they all try to get us poor tourist to spend more money, and if there are any way to avoid these little tricks?
I know they have great ways in making you think you have to pay for certain things when infact its just a way for them to earn a few more $!!
As you can imagine we%26#39;re spending a fourtune so any info will help!!!!
Any hidden Tricks?
Hi
Can you give an example of ';nasty hidden tricks';? I am a well-travelled person and don%26#39;t have a CLUE what you are talking about... :-(
If you are talking about them having ways to part you with your money (by buying things), then yes - they are there to offer a service AND to make money out of you. But what you spend (or choose not to spend) is completely up to you. If you don%26#39;t like spending money at hotel/minibar prices, then go to a local supermarket and stock up on drinks/snacks for your room. If you don%26#39;t like paying hotel prices for breakfast, then go to your local IHOP or diner etc.
Oh and tipping - look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A5200011 . Tipping is not a ';nasty hidden trick';, it is a way of life over there. If you don%26#39;t want to tip 15% (minimum) in a restaurant, then don%26#39;t eat there - find a cheaper restaurant where the total bill + 15% is more reasonable to you.
