I too was undecided but eventually booked Riverside only because Riverside has got quiet pools as well as the main pool and FQ has only got one main pool.

Hi banna, how many in your travel party and what are the ages ? My response would be based on that info as well as how much time you think you will spend at the resort.

We stayed in the Acadian house at POR in the mansion section. We had a quiet pool just out our door and down the stairs. The main pool was just across a bridge and the food court and main building just across another bridge. My kids are 4 and 7 and even after very long hours at the parks not once did they ever complain about the walks. It took only a few minutes to walk to the food court and main building and we made many trips there. I believe Partypa recently posted that they stayed in the building very far from the food court and it took them 6 minutes to get there. Riverside is very nice with beautiful landscaping and wildlife. We enjoyed both the main pool and the quiet pool and had no complaints. Although our feet were tired from the parks we enjoyed our walks at POR.

riverside everytime. the veiws are wonderful and the walks are not long, you are talking about 5 mins at the most from your room to the main building.

We love the POFQ, it%26#39;s smaller and the atmosphere is great. You don%26#39;t need a quiet pool here, with not as many rooms it%26#39;s quiet enough. It%26#39;s nice to be able to get a drink from the bar right beside the pool and watch your kids swim, the laundry facilities are right close by, also, if you need to throw a load in while the kids are swimming. None of the rooms are more than a minute or two%26#39;s walk from the pool, and the bus stop is very convenient, and with it being the first to pick up and drop off, you%26#39;ll pretty much always get a seat. We%26#39;ll never stay anywhere else.

Definitely Riverside for us. Our room looked out over a stream and we used to watch mother duck take her ducklings for a swim every morning.

We stayed at Riverside w/our 2 yo - nice jungle gym/play area, ok pool for little ones and a bit more spread out than FQ. FQ is the first boat drop-off coming back from Downtown Disney, which makes the ride there/back faster for FQ guests.

If you have little ones they might enjoy the dragon water slide/pool area at FQ more. But FQ is also smaller, and so a bit more quiet. At Riverside our tot thoroughly enjoyed the riverside food court, which had a lego table in it. Came in very handy during rainshowers.

Thanks everyone..everybit helps...

I love Riverside and will be staying there for the third time this Sept.

The garden-like feel of the resort and the winding paths to stroll are wonderful. You feel more ';privacy'; especially in the Alligator Bayou section due to the greenery somewhat ';hiding'; the other buildings.

As mentioned above, Riverside has the quiet pools located throughout the resort if the main one is too noisy or crowded. You are also allowed to ';pool hop'; over to the French Quarter sea-serpent pool too. Wildlife is abundant with ducks, rabbits, chipmuncks, and even deer on the property at times.

Regarding the boat to DTD, I%26#39;ve experienced times when the boat would fill up with passengers at Riverside and no room left for those at F.Q. to ride, so that%26#39;s another consideration.

The Alligator Bayou section of Riverside have the extra trundle beds in the room to allow for 5 people per room. I don%26#39;t think this is the case at F.Q.
