Just Back - Help on Next Year

Hi we have just come back from two of the best weeks of our lives!

First timers and we have well and truly got this Florida thing now!

We are planning on going back next year - we would like to do a week at the beach (thinking of Clearwater) and a week at the parks. We would go back to the QIP on I-Drive.

We were just wondering when would be a good time to go? It was absolutely heaving the fortnight we went with the kids being off school etc.

Can you go at any time?

May is a good month for slower crowds and good weather (warm, but not overly hot and humid). November before the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday is also similar.

September is the best for low crowds, but weather is hot, humid, and chances for tropical storms.

January is good for low crowds too, but weather can be cool or even down right cold.

When you say ';kids being off school';, does this mean ';your kids'; and you want to bring them with you? If so, then you should state the times that you can come and someone will then narrow it down for you further.

Also see the recent topic ';Looking For Recommendation'; for suggestions for Clearwater.

Sorry I meant the American kids were on holiday!

I am able to take my holidays any time - though my husband is self employed and we have to work around him - the more warning we have of booking the better.

We usually come back from holiday and book for next year straight away.

Sept is good for the weather and low crowds.

Look forward to the TR.

Twent - We were in Florida the last week of May and it was great, a little wet. I would hesitate about Sept (high hurricanes season), the crowds at the park were less then the next week.

My sister is in Orlando and is always saying go in early May - best weather, lower crowds, nicer time then later in the summer and still not hurricane season.

Welcome to the craze that is Orlando/central Florida. Enjoy your next trip and enjoy planning it.

Cheers,

CS

Thanks for the clarification on the kids. In addition to what Kat suggests, I would add the first two weeks in December although by that time the ';Snow Birds'; will be around.

Also Feb. and March could have weather like Kat described for January (not so much for March) and you have might to contend with the Spring Break crowd - but you could avoid them with the right choice of location.

glad you had a good time it is great place, we went for the first time april 2006 and we have booked again for end of october, i can t wait, more excited than my two teenagers

we stayed at the QIP and we are going back again

Thanks everyone.

I feel I am a real member - got loads of tips from you all before I went and now I%26#39;ve been feel I can share with others (if they want it)!

Thinking about last week in August - first week in September 2008 - 1 week in Orlando and one week at either Daytona or Clearwater!

I am still up a height from the whole experience and loved it!

I must say though that I preferred Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure to Disney. But you have to say you%26#39;ve done Disney don%26#39;t you???

Been a few times now but like September most for low crowds and high heat! Early Oct also good but beware half term breaks.
