Weather question

I%26#39;m a little concerned with the weather during the end of July first of August. Does it generally rain/storm a lot during this time. I%26#39;ve heard different things. We%26#39;ve never went to the beach during this time of year and are used to sunny days when we go! Everyone tells us we%26#39;re crazy to go at this time because of weather threats! Please give us some insight/heads-up on your experiences. Thanks a bunch!

Weather question

Hello luv2travel,

We just returned from PCB last Sat. The weather for the most part was good. The temps %26amp; humidity was very high %26amp; it only rained a couple of times, but only for a couple of hours. We%26#39;ve been to PCB in Aug several times. The weather was pretty much the same. You are not in any way crazy for going during that time of the year. There are weather threats all over the country not just at PCB. Usually if it does rain, it goes away rather quickly. That%26#39;s what beach weather is all about. We are having a drought here in Ga %26amp; from what I gathered while in PCB, they%26#39;re having the same situation. Good Luck %26amp; don%26#39;t worry. We are all very happy to have had you join us all on this forum. Please feel free to ask anything. There are several regulars here that give wonderful info etc. Coacheswife is a regular %26amp; she lives in Ashland, Ky. She%26#39;s one of our best posters here on the forum. Thanks for joining us!!!!

Weather question

write it in ink.....summer in FL....hot, humid, afternoon/early evening thunderstorms that normally don%26#39;t last very long......the only time this will really change is if there is a severe front moving thru from west to east thru the country or if there is a TS, TD, or hurricane

Thanks!!!! (Hopefully, NO Hurricanes! Yikes! ) Thanks again for the insight.

luv2travel----b/c we have a timeshare, we are locked in for the last week of July to the first first days of Aug. I can honestly tell you we;ve NEVER in 25 yrs, had a week that was a wash out or a threat from a hurricane. We have had weeks where it rained every afternoon due to heat and humidity and we%26#39;ve had weeks where we%26#39;d have a full day of rain but never every day a wash out. THANK GOODNESS for that. I would be more concerned about Sept and late Aug than I would July and early Aug.

Come on down and have a good time!!

Karen .

Karen, you will be there when i am. Maybe we%26#39;ll run into each other!

I hope the weather is great! I bet it will be!!! Luv2travel, I think May and June has more storms because of the spring storms etc. So, unless there is a hurricane or tropical storm out, I would think it would be very nice. My family usually always goes that time of year, and I%26#39;ve never heard them say it has rained a lot.

Sounds great! Thanks, Karen. I%26#39;m sure we will have a BLAST! By the way, You really deliver great information on these posts. I%26#39;ve jotted down several things from your comments on this board. They all seem honest and helpful for everyone planning a blind trip. We are staying at the Palmetto (Beachside) this year just to scope things out a bit. I hope it is nice. I haven%26#39;t heard much negativity about it, so hopefully it will be a good choice. We usually go to Siesta Key, I hope the beach is as awesome! Thanks again!

Hey fellow Kentuckian!

We were in PCB May 22-June 2. The weather was beautiful the entire time. We had one brief rain shower and one overcast day, but other than that it was awesome. We had huge waves, though and did not get to enjoy that placid, calm water that drew us to the gulf coast in the first place (although the water was still very beautiful!)

Anyway, just like jtborl said, seems like any day in the summer you%26#39;re gonna catch a late day thunderstorm. I%26#39;ve even been in Florida where it%26#39;s raining on one side of the street and not the other!

I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;re crazy at all to go during the time frame you%26#39;ve selected; I think that no matter what amount of planning you do and no matter what time of the year you go, you just can%26#39;t control the weather, so just go make memories and have a great time!

And you%26#39;re right about Karen; if she gives you info about PCB, you can count on it!
