Kid friendly places to eat/Special events

I am glad to say we will be arriving in Anna Maria next week, hope the weather is good there. Anyway, what are the best places to eat with kids? Also, are there any places that kids eat free? If anyone knows of any special events next week thru July 3, please let me know. Thanks

Kid friendly places to eat/Special events

Ladyleo, The time has finally come? Yeaaah, you guys are going to have a great time. As far as restaurants, there really arent any chain restaurants on the island so I dont think you will be able to find any free dinners for the kiddies but I do know that most places do have a childrens menu that might help. Also, just about all restaurants on the island are kid friendly, it%26#39;s a very family friendly place. I do know that a lot of kids love going to the Mantee County Beach, they have a playground and a little beah cafe that has all the pancakes you can eat. The Sandbar, Beach House would also be fine for them, they are right on the beach. I think they would like the Rod %26amp; Reel Pier, the food is very inexpensive and really good and they could watch the fishermen and walk on the pier and see fish. Also, I am not a boater but I always get questions about boating and I cam across a website www.cortezkat.com , take a look at it, they have cruises and charters that take you to ride with the dolphins and sunset cruises, it looks really interesting. Cortez is just across the beach bridge from Gulf Drive. Enjoy. OH, and will you be there the night of the 3rd? If so, that is when they have their HUGE fireworks display, they set them off on a bardge from the Beach House Restaurant, you should be able to see them from Cedar Cove but you might want to take the trollley and go on down there with your chairs on the beach...they are amazing!!!!

You are going to have a great time. We have a 10 year old and just about everywhere is kid friendly. They don%26#39;t have kids-eat-free, but it%26#39;s usually pretty reasonable. Off the island, heading into Bradenton on Cortez Road is the Anna Maria Oyster Bar. It%26#39;s got a deal where they measure your kid and charge you whatever they are in inches. It%26#39;s like the only time your kids aren%26#39;t trying to be as tall as possible. it%26#39;s a pretty good deal when your kid gets a good meal for 45cents!! Our son gets the kids pizza and it%26#39;s not one of those little frozen things that%26#39;s 6inches across. The thing is the size of a dinner plate! They have good seafood and you get quite a bit for the money for the adults. Have fun.

Also, there are little freebie newspapers, the Islander and Sun. They have any special events listed. Also, pick up the tacky little island map, usually found near the freebie newspapers, they usually have coupons for things on the island. They also show you where everything is.

Have a great trip! Amanateegirl

I know the Beach House has a kids menu with several entrees for about $5 each--enough for lunch the next day for a little one, or maybe to share. They also bring out dessert--a ';push-up'; that the kids all love.
