What's close to Splash area, how to get there?

We are leaving for PCB the 7th going to Splash. After gets lots of info on the resort itself, I realize now that I%26#39;ve heard it is somewhat away from everything else, and I need to figure out how to get around the easiest way. Is that true that it is ';away'; or is it just away from busiest road? I read the posts about how to get get places without all of the traffic. any suggestions on how to get out without getting in the ';cruising line';? Would we go Back beach Rd, Front Beach, or Thomas Drive?

And we always have to find a Walmart wherever we go, need directions there too! Thanks

First of all..... Wal Mart + Panama City Beach = TARGET

Seriously, the Wal Mart here is par-TAY central til all hours. If you%26#39;re going to go, then my best suggestion is to go early in the morning when everybody is sleeping in or on the beach. Other than that, you are quite close to a very nice, non crowded Target store on Back Beach that has grocery items, a Starbucks, and everything else you would need. They do not have fresh fruit or vegetables or a meat department; but you are also fairly close to a Winn Dixie.

That said, if you REALLY want to go to Wal-Mart, then you would need to do the following: Turn left out of the parking garage out of Splash and take the first left (Cobb Road). Go up to Back Beach Road (also known as Route 98 or Panama City Beach Pkwy). At the intersection to your left you will see Dan%26#39;s BBQ. Turn Right onto Back Beach and procced to Beckrich Road. From Beckrich you will make a left onto Hutchison Blvd. (Middle Beach Road) Stay on MBR almost to the intersection of Front Beach. You will see a Zaxby%26#39;s restaurant on your left; almost directly across from Zaxby%26#39;s is the side entrance to the Wal Mart parking lot. I would estimate this trip from Splash during non peak traffic times to be about 20 minutes.

Splash sits to the west of most of the action on Front Beach Road, with the exception of Sandpiper ';resort';. It sits well away from Thomas Drive, where many restaurants, hotels, and clubs are located. Cobb Road is your main cut-through to Back Beach; use it to avoid the %26#39;cruising line%26#39;, and to take you anywhere east of the resort. To go west, (like to Thomas%26#39;s donuts...) just stay on Front Beach Road. It%26#39;s not heavily trafficked and would not be a problem I wouldn%26#39;t think. I%26#39;m more than happy to help you figure out the easiest way to get to any specific place you have in mind. Hope this helps some!

We were at Wal Mart nearly every day and didn%26#39;t have many problems. Late Saturday night was the only exception. We went there after midnight and lots of the shelves were bare. Chips, popcorn, etc. were hard to come by. Workers were everywhere stocking shelves, though, so it was probably okay Sunday morning. Never had any other problems there.

I would take their advice, though, because I think Target might be closer to where you%26#39;re staying. Wal Mart was just across the street and down a little ways where we were, so we went there often.It%26#39;s right by the intersection of Front Beach Road and Thomas Drive. Target was out of the way for us.

Either way, hope you have a safe and wonderful trip!

Last summer, we stayed at the celedon, and i think its right next door to splash. When you go east on front beach back towards the main bridge/bay, you will come to a red light that has a white castle being torn down. You can either go straight and bypass or you can turn right and stay on front beach. Also you can go through pier park to get to the target on back beach road and take that east to bypass traffic.

Last year we drove all the way to walmart only to find the shelves about empty and a big crowd to get around. you could hardly walk.

We ended up leaving and going back toward the way we stayed to winn dixie which was stocked and not crowded. We also shopped the Target on back beach road and it was nice.

They are right though, if you must go to walmart on the beach, better go during the time of day when everyone is sleeping, unless you like crowds! Good luck and i hope you enjoy splash. I heard its nice!!!

Thanks, we actually love Target, but never seem to find one, that%26#39;s perfect to have one so close!
