Questions about visiting Sanibel Island

Would you recommend biking around the island for a day visit?...with a 2 year old?

Which bike rental shop would you suggest, Finnimore%26#39;s or Billy%26#39;s Bike rentals? OR- Is the there a different bike rental option? Is there a place close to these shops that we can park our car for the day? Is there a fee? Any great bike trails we can%26#39;t miss out on?

What%26#39;s the weather like in February?

Any restaurant suggestions for lunch?...We%26#39;re NOT big fans of seafood and a kid%26#39;s menu would be great.

THANKS TO ANYONE WHO REPLIES!!!!!

Questions about visiting Sanibel Island

Billy%26#39;s or Finnimore%26#39;s will do for bike rental. They have maps of the bike paths and they can advise you. You can rent a bike trailer for the 2 year old and he or she will be very comfortable (shaded and screened).

You can park your car for the day while biking without a fee.

The weather in Feb is usually Low to Mid 70%26#39;s. Sometimes 80%26#39;s and the gulf waters are mid 60%26#39;s.

Island Cow is a great choice for lunch (good kids menu) and family friendly also Cheeburger cheeburger. You can review the menus on www.cuisine-scene.com.

Rainstorm is right on about the bike rentals with the little trailers. Sections of the bike paths are very sunny, but that%26#39;s much more comfortable in the winter sun. Here a website with a good interactive map that has attraction and accommodations locater - including the two main bike rental places above. Both do free parking, but the lots can get crowded in season. Finnimore%26#39;s seems to have more space than Billy%26#39;s.

RC Otters on Captiva, may be a bit far [about 30 minutes] but is good for kids as is Cheeburger Cheeburger on Sanibel. Amy%26#39;s Over Easy is a good choice too. Sanibel Cafe is small but happy to accommodate kids. The fossilized shells in the table can be a good distraction.

You will have fun all along the path. Stop at Periwinkle Place Shopping Center for shade and refreshments and for the little one to get some recreation on the swings and slide.

You can bike though the Bailey Tract if your little on is in a bike seat vs. a trailer which I recommend. It%26#39;s safer. And it%26#39;s cute when they nod off for a nap. There are actually padded head and hand rests on recent modles found at Billy%26#39;s for sure.
