Mr Z's Philly Cheesesteal

Many of you have heard many of us talk about Mr.Z%26#39;s and how good it is and many of you have tried it while visiting. In todays paper he was featured and so were a few of his recipes. Here is one for his Philly Cheesesteak.

Philly Cheesesteak

6-8 ounces of ribeye beef, sliced thin or cut small

(top round may be used)

Amoroso roll (these are made in Philadelphia. If

unavailable, use Italian bread rolls)

1 ounce onions, diced and saut茅ed

1 ounce mushrooms, sliced and saut茅ed

3 slices American cheese

2 Tablespoons milk

1 Tablespoon olive oil

Heat a skillet. When very hot, add the

olive oil and ribeye beef, keeping the ribeye

moving to prevent it from burning. Add the

onions and mushrooms. Meanwhile, heat

milk in a small saucepot.

When milk is hot, add cheese, whisking

it until creamy. Add more milk or cheese to

achieve desired consistency and amount.

When the ribeye is brown, but still tender,

remove the meat and vegetables from pan

and place in the amoroso roll. Add the

cheese. This makes one sandwich.

Yah, it%26#39;s that good. I find after a few days of sea food it%26#39;s good to have a place for food like Mr. Z%26#39;s. Good bunch of guys too.

This is one of the best subs I%26#39;ve ever had. I think it%26#39;s important to say they use white american, not yellow.

What perfect timing, just yesterday I was telling my wife that I was jonesing for one of those cheesesteaks. Thanks for the recipe Arnie.
