Best B & B in Key West?

Coming at the end of July, top of August. There last year and stayed at Simonton Court. Loved it but they said no kids and there was a 12-13 year old that acted like an idiot in the pool.

Want a B %26amp; B with no kids, Happy Hour, great breakfast and a block or two from Duval.

Checking Cypress House and wondered if any of you fine folks can suggest one.

Thanks!

Best B %26amp; B in Key West?

I have never stayed at the CH, but have heard great comments - some of them being - great Happy Hour and great hosts. It is also in a very good location - close to Duval and the Bight which has many bars and restaurants. Yes, you will need to call them to find out about their rules on kids.

Have fun researching - as said - have of the fun is the journey :)

Best B %26amp; B in Key West?

I like Cypress House. Definitely the best happy hour I%26#39;ve found in Key West. Also a very good breakfast. I wasn%26#39;t as thrilled with our room. I suspect it was our need to have the two bedroom unit (our Adult kids were with us). It was ok, but nothing special. I%26#39;ve had better rooms at Harbor Inn, Ambrosia, and Island City House.

I liked Harbor Inn too. We stayed in the Jamaica room and it was neat. Maybe not so neat if you%26#39;re a guy over about 5%26#39; 10';, the ceiling in the bathroom slopes.....

Our last two trips, and our next one, will be at Marrero%26#39;s. Not as nice as the other two, but the price is right and I really like the location.

That said, if there would have been availability at the Cypress House, we would be heading there.

Best B%26amp;B? Gardens, hands down. You%26#39;ll pay for it but you%26#39;ll be treated like royalty and no matter what your other KW experiences are, you%26#39;ll leave happy.

Look here at the reviews, Gardens Hotel.

The Gardens on Simonton. Its by far the best. The owner is very hands on and cares very much about her place and her guests experience.

Cypress House is well worth it. I highly suggest it. My wife and I were there a year ago and will be there end of August. This is a wonderful place and I am pretty sure kids aren%26#39;t allow. Check them out on the web.

My boyfriend and I are in Key West from August 2nd through the 5th this year. We decided on the Key West Harbor Inn. It seems to have everything that we want...nice pool, NO KIDS, great happy hour (with more than just beer), great breakfast, great staff, private balconies, lush vegetation, clean/nice furnishings, not too big, not too small, PERFECT location, off Duval but very near all the action on the north end. And believe me, we did a LOT OF RESEARCH. Read the reviews on TA; there are no bad ones at this place...

Good luck in wherever you choose and please leave us all a trip report when you return!

Never stayed at the Cypress House, but the reviews look great. Have stayed at the Harbor Inn on multiple occasions and loved it. Location is awesome, but so is the location of Cypress House - you pass it on the way to Duval from the Harbor Inn. Read the reviews under the Hotels tab - there%26#39;s a tab for B%26amp;Bs.

You mentioned, you%26#39;re looking for ';great breakfast'; - keep in mind that a majority of the B%26amp;Bs have continental breakfasts, not sit down meals. But this provides you the opportunity to go to Blue Heaven for breakfast.

To correct my earlier post. That should be The Gardens on Angela.

Here is the website - http://www.gardenshotel.com/

I would agree the BEST is The Gardens (although I have never stayed there). Not sure what your budget is, or what type of B %26amp; B your looking for (size of B %26amp; B, private entrance, sitting area etc) but there are quite a few ';no kids'; B %26amp; B%26#39;s.

We stayed at Andrews Inn, behind Hemingway House and loved it. It is small, 6 rooms, no kids, pool, HH, your basic B %26amp; B breakfast and right at Truman and Duval. The view from the Pamplona room is of the Hemingay pool, it was beautiful. I just posted a review with pics.

I hear great things about Angelina too (although I NEED a TV LOL) and Key Wes Harbor Inn is beautiful with the best location IMO (at the Seaport). We checked it our when we were there earlier this month and would definitely stay there.

I%26#39;ll tell you this, the chelsea house is nice if you enjoy doing whatever you like with limited interruption from staff. the pool and elevated sundeck are awesome. the new owners(who are trying to buy the island up) made some nice improvements, especially in the covered eating area. the breakfast ';stinks'; compaired to what the previous owners (jim and gary) offered. no more homemade belgian waffles, fresh fruit, hard boil eggs. instead it%26#39;s just ceral and bagels. however, i don%26#39;t go to key west for breakfast, even though it%26#39;s my fav meal. no happy hour either. too bad because that%26#39;s a great way to get the guests to socialize and feel like one big happy family.

i heard from guests who have stayed at the cypress and their opinion was the cypress house was better because of the little things which they do for their guests, such as a nice breakfast and a happy hour.

if you want to get lost and be incommunicado, then hit the chelsea house. if that%26#39;s not your style and need to mingle and do that social butterfly thing, then try the cypress. i have only stayed at the chelsea house because they offer me my elevated sundeck, a nice suite at a reasonable price. plus i am fond of debbie and fran.
