Visit WDW in July or Aug with a daughter in wheelchair?

Hi All

Looking for advice while planning my visit to WDW in 2008. Is there much difference in the weather in July or August or both the same - hot and humid. Unfortunately, our work schedules and schooling don%26#39;t permit visiting outside the summer months. Will the crowds be smaller in July or Aug? I am willing to trade smaller crowds for higher temperatures.

We recently visited DLR in California and had no trouble in either park with wheelchair accessability. My 9 yr old daughter is light enough for my wife and I to transfer her over to the rides that are require transfer. Is that the same experience that I can expect at WDW and the other parks? Are the handicapped parking spots close enough to the parks main entrance without utilizing trams?

How many ticket days should I purchase to see all the parks? Based on prior reviews, we plan to arrive at the parks at opening and then take a break around 3 pm and return after 7 pm.

I am looking to stay at the Marriott Residence Inn Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Anyone have wheelchair accessability and handicapped parking issues at this hotel?

Appreciate any advice in advance.

No difference in the weather in those two months, yes, still very hot and humid.

As for the crowds, late August may be slightly less crowded because some of the Florida schools are back in session. But of course the overseas visitors will probably be around in great numbers.

Wheelchair accessiblility should be the same as the one in California. At the hotel shouldn%26#39;t be a problem either. All public places have to provide for wheelchair people. It%26#39;s a federal law.

Good plan to take a break at 3 pm.

AS for tickets...all the parks? OK - so, 4 days at Disney as a minimum (4 theme parks) + 2 universal Studios + 1 SeaWorld.

The weather is going to be hot and humid.

Having never been to WDW before, you should probalby plan on a full day for each park you want to visit. Arriving early, as you have planned, is the best way to go.

Handicapped parking at each park is plentiful, especially if you get there early in the mornings. You shouldn%26#39;t need the trams in those lots.

The later in August you can visit, the fewer the crowds you%26#39;ll have. The only ';threat'; you%26#39;ll have that time of year is hurricanes, but no one can predict if they will come or not.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and suggestions. Looks like we will be travelling in mid-August 08.

Now my biggest problem is finding a flight from Vancouver, BC using my Aeroplan points without spending 18 hours of travelling time.......ugh!
