Sarasota entertainment/attraction deals - (GOOD ones!)

Can anyone help with any ';insider/locals'; tips on some good deals for attractions in Sarasota area.

I%26#39;ve heard Ringling is free all day on Mondays.

I read that G.Wiz WAS free from 5 - 8 on Wednesdays, but after emailing them to confirm, I found out they no longer offer that promotion.

the Mote aquarium is free for teachers on tuesdays (need ID).

Any others GOOD deals like this that you can share? We will be traveling in July. thanks.

Drum circle on Siesta Key on sundays is free. Beaches are free. Down in Venice, there is a good beach for hunting for sharks teeth called Casperson Beach.

Friday evenings, they have music outside the Van Wezel--not sure if this is over now that summer is really here....

Some of the Ringling is free on Mondays (museum part) but I don%26#39;t believe the Circus Museum or Ca D%26#39;Zan fall into that category. Not free, but a good bargain, is $5 for cocktails and music on the grounds of Ca D%26#39;Zan (Ringling%26#39;s mansion on the Bay) every Third Thursday.

Towels Court and Pineapple have ';Third Friday'; celebrations, with shops open late for the many galleries.

Every Saturday is a great, large Farmers Market in downtown Sarasota, from about 7 AM until noon.

To check out individual events on the web, go to www.Sarasota.com/events. When you%26#39;re here, pick up a copy of the Thursday edition of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune; it gives a listing of events for the next 7-10 days. Another source of event information is ';Downtown and Beyond';, a free magazine that you can get at places like the Library or in many shops. Another source is the monthly Sarasota magazine, available for purchase at local newstands.
